Pink Saturday Apron Giveaway #6

Our weather has changed dramatically in the past few days, getting much colder. I looked out the patio window this morning and thought I'd get a few pictures of the last vestiges of summer. Fall is officially here. Our cherry tree got zapped by a frost a few nights ago, but today it's looking even more frosted. I can see Love Bunny's mower tracks in the grass. It crunched under my feet at about 9 am this morning. And just to the right in the photo are the tomato plants dying. Hubs picked the last ones a few days ago and we are now trying to distribute them to as many neighbors as we can!

This little carpet rose bush is struggling to keep going up until the very last minute.

I try to keep my photos at 800 pixels wide so you can't see this very well but if you could see it at 3800 pixels you would see the frost on the roses. It looks like sugar frosting. Just beautiful to view it in the garden.

  2. Hi Connie,
We have very little drastic change in weather here in Hawaii, so preparing the garden and yard is quite foreign to me. I bet your yard is beautiful in prime weather.
Speaking of beautiful, your apron is just that.
    Hugs to you,
    Creative Grammie

  4. Your roses are still lovely!!!
As a "southerner", have you tried making "fried green tomatoes" with the ones still on the vine and a big frost coming? They will keep for a while spread out on paper, but we like them when they are still quite green...best for frying! I know, fried foods are not good for you, but you gotta LIVE once in a while!!
    Love the apron....love them all..
they are each and everyone so pretty!
    Have a great weekend...Hugs.. Francy

  5. They say we might get our first frost this weekend. I am hoping not because our roses are looking so pretty.

Happy Pink Saturday, Connie. Everyone is loving your apron giveaway.

  6. Congrats to Grace - this is a lovely apron, definitely with a French accent. Shame about the roses, but all power to them for hanging on this long. Ours are now very straggly and need pruning for the winter. Shame, as they are still flowering.

    Happy Pink Saturday, Connie!

  9. We've definitely got that frost going as well. Isn't it neat the way things crunch with it - kind of makes up for the end of the growing season. :) Lovely apron as well - great for sharing with grandchildren AND senior parents. Delightful for this sweet PInk Saturday post.

  11. Goodness gracious Connie! You have to be the original apron queen! what beautiful treasures you share.
We are in the cold season too! We had a heavy wet snow the other day. Lots of broken tree branches and snapped limbs and it is so sad. Your photos are lovely and it is always a pleasure to stop by and say hi! HPS and enjoy your weekend.

  13. Hi Connie Sweetie...
What a beautiful share. I remember those crisp frost days, and the crunch beneath our feet as we walked. Do I miss it? Nope, I will keep my heat here in the desert. Don't like the cold or the snow. We are just starting to experience our upper 80 and 90 days. So nice here.

Congratulations to Ms Grace. She is one lucky lady. Each of your aprons are so original and festive. Thank you sweetie for the wonderful opportunity to own one of your creations.

Have a gorgeous weekend sweetie. Many hugs and much love, Sherry

  15. That is such a cute apron! I love your selection of fabrics. Also, I wish I could see the frost on the roses--bet that would be a lovely picture. We actually haven't reached the frost point here in the Portland area, but it is not far away, I'm sure!

  17. Oh, for those crisp crunchy walks around the yard after a frost, Connie. Well, this year (can see todays post) we did NOT get a frost, we got whammied with snow. I was doing the jigs I was so happy.

Your roses look so sweet kissed with frost.

Should you draw my name for the winning apron, would you be so kind to send it to Sherry @ countrywingsinphoenix. She just adores aprons. You create the cutest designs & fabrics.

Hope all is going well on your end ... I am not getting around much lately.

    BOO-T-ful Halloween wishes ~
